Can you dye a sofa?

You can dye upholstered furniture if you remove the upholstery fabric from the furniture. Keep in mind dye works best on 100% cotton, linen, ramie and rayon. Note that the fabrics must be set in the dye bath and rinsed and washed after the required set time. Failure to wash the upholstery increases the chance that the dye will rub off on clothing or other fabrics at a later time.
