Hand Painted Custom Napkins with DIY Citrus Fruit Prints

Supplies Needed:

Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paint (orange, pink, yellow)

Citrus fruit (grapefruit, orange, lemon)

100% cotton cloth napkins

Paper plate

Knife

Cutting board

Protective surface cover

Step 1 Cut the citrus fruit

Wash your citrus fruit to ensure it is free of dirt or debris. Place the fruit on a cutting board and carefully slice with a sharp knife. We cut oranges, lemons, and grapefruit in halves and quarters for a variety of citrus stamp shapes and sizes!

Step 2 Prepare your project

Lay a clean cloth napkin flat onto your protected work surface. Squeeze Tulip Brush-On Fabric Paint onto a disposable plate, using one plate per color.

Step 3 Dip fruit into paint

Dip a piece of citrus fruit into the paint, cut side down, ensuring the surface is entirely covered.

Step 4 Press onto napkin

Press citrus onto napkin to create a fruit print

Press the painted citrus onto a cloth napkin to create a fruit print. Continue stamping the fruit onto the napkin, reapplying paint as desired.

Step 5 Repeat

Repeat to create a custom napkin with assorted fruit prints

Repeat steps 4 and 5 as desired until your custom napkins are covered in colorful fruit prints! For this project, we used oranges with orange fabric paint, lemons with yellow fabric paint, and grapefruit with pink fabric paint. Once you’re satisfied with the design, allow the paint to dry flat for at least 4 hours.

Step 6 Display!

Once the paint has dried, your custom napkins are ready to use! These playful fruit print napkins add a fun and fruity pop of color to any tablescape scene. Fabric can be washed after 72 hours.
